This was originally posted on May 23rd, 2002.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s interesting what you turn up when doing a Google search on the term &#8220;oil pipeline afghanistan&#8221;. I was looking for a more recent article regarding this subject but came across a couple other ones a bit older. <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/world\/west_asia\/37021.stm\" title=\" BBC News: Taleban in Texas for talks on gas pipeline \">This article<\/a> from December 4th, 1997 details the Taleban&#8217;s visit to Texas to discuss building a pipeline through Afghanistan. I trust the BBC news as a reputable source and <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/hi\/english\/business\/newsid_1984000\/1984459.stm\" title=\" BBC News: Afghanistan plans gas pipeline \">this is the article<\/a> that I was originally looking for.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t trust <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anwr.org\/\" title=\"  \">non-profit organizations like this one though<\/a>. Can you guess what they&#8217;re agenda is? Well if a pipeline <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2002\/ALLPOLITICS\/04\/17\/anwr.facts\/index.html\" title=\"  \">can&#8217;t be built in Alaska<\/a> then we&#8217;ll get our crude from someplace else and it <a href=\"http:\/\/english.pravda.ru\/main\/2001\/10\/16\/18147.html\" title=\"  \">seems the Russians<\/a> are wondering the same thing as some of us Americans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another article pulled from the old Anthurian archives for the true &#8220;Historical Perspective&#8221; that it provides.
